What is Solid Gold?

Solid Gold Jewelry is a piece of jewelry made entirely of gold -- inside and out. It's the most expensive and durable among the other types of fine gold jewelry. Solid gold items can be either 10K, 14K, 18K, or 24K. Karats (K) are percentages of actual gold in the jewelry piece.

What is 10k Gold?

10k gold is the lowest solid gold alloy used for jewelry. It's composed of 41.7% gold and 58.3% alloy. Appearance: 10k gold is pale yellow in color. It's the least yellow of all the karat types since it contains the least amount of gold. Advantages: The primary advantage of 10k gold is its durability.

What is 14K Gold?

14 karat gold is produced from 58.3 per cent pure gold and a 41.7 per cent mixture of other metals like copper, zinc, silver and nickel. With only 14 parts of gold out of 24, it's usually less expensive than other higher karats of gold.

What is 18k Gold?

18 karat gold is made up of 75% gold and 25% alloy. This type of gold is referred to as 18 karat because 18 out of the 24 parts that make up the gold are pure gold. 18K gold is usually the most pure form of gold used for rings, watches and other wearable jewelry.
